Hydrogen peroxide is cytotoxic and therefore not a first choice treatment in cleaning chronic wounds and ulcers. Hydrogen peroxide is used to remove crusts on healing wounds such as bolster on a skin graft. Hydrogen Peroxide is active at high concentrations in killing bacteria and funig. It has a quick onset and also has some bleaching action.
