Dr. Leslie Baumann is an internationally renowned board-certified dermatologist, bestselling writer, media personality, sought-after lecturer and the CEO of Baumann Dermatology. Dr. Baumann has served as a Professor of Dermatology at the University of Miami where she founded the first Academic Cosmetic Dermatology Research Institute in the Unites States in 1997. She authored the first textbook on Cosmetic Dermatology (McGraw Hill, 2002 and 2009) which has been translated into 8 languages and become the most widely used cosmetic dermatology textbook around the world. Her latest textbook, Cosmeceuticals and Cosmetic Ingredients (McGraw Hill, 2014) is an encyclopedia of ingredients used by aestheticians, cosmetic chemists and dermatologists worldwide. Dr. Baumann also wrote the New York Times bestseller, The Skin Type Solution (2005) which describes her scientifically validated and widely adopted Baumann Skin Typing System. Dr. Baumann also authors a twice-monthly column for The Miami Herald Newspaper, a monthly column Cosmeceutical Critique in the trade newspaper Dermatology News, a monthly column in the Australian magazine Professional Beauty and her blog LeslieBaumannMD.com.

Dr. Baumann founded Baumann Cosmetic & Research Institute (BCRI) in 2009 which has since become internationally known for its role in bringing cosmetic product and procedure innovations thru the FDA approval process and into the hands of physicians who Dr. Baumann personally trains on new techniques. Dr. Baumann’s research has been instrumental in the FDA approval of Botox, Dysport, Kybella, Voluma, Sculptra, Juvéderm, Restylane Silk, UltraShape Power, Ulthera, Rhofade, Mirvasco, Tazorac foam, Tri-Luma and other groundbreaking drugs and treatments. She has authored over 190 medical publications.
