Vixey Silva, DO

Vixey Silva, DODr. Vixey Silva is a PGY-3 dermatology resident at HCA Florida Largo Hospital, set to complete her training in June 2026. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2022.

Dr. Silva has a passion for Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology. She was honored to win first place at both the Golden Scalpel Knowledge Bowl at the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery conference and the National Dermatopathology Bowl at the American Academy of Dermatology conference in 2024. She has also had the opportunity to present and publish a new suture technique called the Modified Running Percutaneous Stitch, designed for high tension wounds.

As a member of the Advisory Council for Derm in-Review, Dr. Silva finds great fulfillment in contributing to the education of her fellow residents. She enjoys developing content and exam practice questions, particularly in the area of dermatologic surgery for core and applied exams. Dr. Silva believes that sharing knowledge and resources is essential for the growth of the dermatology community. This passion for education has led her to create multiple board fodder publications for the American Academy of Dermatology’s DermWorld Directions in Residency, hoping to provide useful study materials for her peers.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Dr. Silva enjoys traveling, hiking in national parks, practicing hot yoga, experimenting with new recipes, and tending to her plant collection.
