Deirdre Hooper, MD, FAAD
Dr. Deirdre Hooper is a board-certified dermatologist who specializes in medical, cosmetic, and laser dermatology. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Hooper is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at both Louisiana State University and Tulane University.
Dr. Hooper is an honors graduate of Louisiana State University School of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Louisiana Tech University, where she graduated cum laude. Her postdoctoral training included Louisiana State University Department of Dermatology as well as a Women’s Dermatologic Society Mentorship with Dr. Pearl Grimes in Los Angeles, CA. She serves as chair of the Women’s Dermatologic Society Legacy Council and as a member of the fundraising committee and the practice advisory committee of the WDS. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology Council on Communications and past member of AAD’s Youth Education Committee. Dr. Hooper is also a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, serving on the Quest Engagement work group and Annual Meeting planning committee. Additionally, she is a member and past president of the Louisiana Dermatology Society. She is a member of the Noah Worcester Dermatological Society, the New Orleans Women’s Dermatologic Journal Club, and the Leaders Society of the Dermatology Foundation.
Due to her acknowledged expertise in skin cancer and dermatology, Dr. Hooper is regularly quoted in articles in major magazines and newspapers. She has authored original contributions to the academic dermatological literature, and is an active participant in clinical trials. She speaks and performs live injections at local and national Dermatology and Plastic Surgery meetings, and trains residents and colleagues in cosmetic and laser dermatology.
Dr. Hooper lives in New Orleans, LA with her husband and their 3 children.
